I design in SolidWorks and Creo, run the simulations, and write up every result. The full reports are all here, so you can check the work yourself.

Selected work

Four projects I can walk you through start to finish.

Completed SolidWorks detailed drawing of the 5-inch housing cover: top view, Section A-A, Section D-D, auxiliary View C-C, right side view, and shaded isometric, with title block

5-inch housing cover, detailed drawing

I took a supplied SolidWorks model and turned it into a drawing a machinist could build from. Six views on one sheet define the stepped bore, the bolt pattern, and the side lug with nothing left to guess.

  • Top view, two full sections, an auxiliary view, a side view, and an isometric on one B-size sheet
  • 8× Ø17/64 in mounting holes on a Ø4.750 in bolt circle
  • Dimensioned and toleranced per ASME Y14.5

SolidWorks model of the four-leg Jansen walking mechanism with foot trace curves

Four-leg Jansen walking mechanism

A four-legged walker built on Theo Jansen's eight-bar leg linkage, all driven from one crank. I pulled the motion data to check the gait with numbers instead of eyeballing the animation.

  • About 20 leg links, one degree of freedom, 60 RPM input
  • Paired legs run exactly out of phase for a stable gait
  • Out-of-plane motion stays at zero, so the mates are right

Temperature plot on the underside of the aluminum heatsink, hottest at the central CPU contact patch

CPU heatsink thermal analysis

A steady-state thermal study of a finned aluminum heatsink under a 50 W CPU load, to see where the heat goes and where a fan would help most.

  • Peaks at 63.9 °C, below the 85–100 °C throttling range
  • Only 16.4 K difference across the whole part
  • Center fin channels run hottest, the best place to aim a fan
ToolsSolidWorks Simulation
TypeThermal FEA

Blue and black 3D-printed PLA prototype of the gyroscopic cup holder

Gyroscopic cup holder

A self-leveling cup holder for bikes and wheelchairs. Two gimbal rings let gravity keep the drink upright as the mount tilts. Team project with Ghazi Mustafa. I modeled both rings.

  • Printed and assembled in PLA for about $10
  • Printed fits came out too tight, so we revised the pin holes from 0.175 to 0.2 in
  • Design targets: cups 64–100 mm, under 1 kg total

Hands-on work

Lab work and projects from NJIT, most of it done as part of a team. Each one opens the full write-up, and I can walk you through any of them.
